80 New Boots on the Ground

Many thanks to the 40 or so excellent Bay Area souls who made their way to Emperor Norton's Boozeland last night and added their energy, their ideas and their absinthe-quenched thirsts to the soft-launch party for The Emperor's Bridge Campaign*.

It was a fabulous, invigorating evening — and the most hopeful sign yet that there already are the makings of a networked community of advocates with the desire, the talent, and many of the connections necessary to make "The Emperor Norton Bridge" a reality.

A special shout-out to my co-host, Tami Twarog, who made the arrangements with our venue and tirelessly tweeted out word of the event. And, of course, to Emperor Norton's Boozeland, who generously provided us with a special on absinthe cocktails, helping to make the already good spirits of the evening even better!

If you weren't able to join us, never fear — we definitely will do this again before too long!

In the meantime, please continue to share our Facebook group with those in your circles who should be a part of this emerging people's movement.

And, yes, this weekend's 4,500-signature challenge still stands — so please keep sharing the Change.org petition to name the Bay Bridge for Emperor Norton.

Thanks, everybody — and stay tuned! There's much more to come!
